Lord Krebs, chairman of the Adaptation sub-committee, has warned that not enough is being done to prepare the UK’s infrastructure for the anticipated effects of climate change. He warned: “If we wait, it’s too late ... We should be taking action so this doesn’t creep up on us.”
According to the sub-committee, climate change may cause floods, storms, heat waves and droughts and few public or private bodies have taken any action to prepare for this.
The Adaptation sub-committee is part of the Committee on Climate Change.
